How Belonging Matters Reached 2.5 Million People…

Initially entitled “Finding Home,” Belonging Matters was used as the framework for the Elder Financial Abuse Awareness Project, a regional initiative in British Columbia.

Over the 1.5-year project, the Elder Financial Abuse participants brought their learning and insights to their local communities through direct connections (presentations, skits, orientations, and public speaking videos).

The project was also widely covered by the media through TV, newspapers, articles, and radio. Combined, this Belonging Matters project had an estimated reach of 2.5 million people.

I would gladly interview her again.

It was a pleasure to interview Jessie for the Get Inspired Talks podcast. She is an engaging and informative guest and has a real passion for what she is doing. She came prepared and did a great job of sharing the interview once it was published. She has remained in contact, which has been wonderful. I would gladly interview her again.

[Jessie’s] episode is still a frequently shared favourite.

Jessie Sutherland was an absolute joy to have as a guest on Vantage Point's podcast, From Our Vantage Point. Jessie brought her expertise on how to create belonging and unity on boards and within organizations. She shared with our audience the importance of establishing a sense of belonging as a team and the impact it can have.

Jessie's valuable knowledge is still shared today as her episode is still a frequently shared favourite.

Tom Dutta
Film/Radio Producer, Host of The Quiet Warrior Show

Her narrative and stories are well researched and most importantly, relatable to the world.

I saw Jessie on stage taping a TEDx talk and was compelled to interview her on my Radio Show. There are egocentric people and then there's Jessie...authentic and egoless. She has taken a lifetime of experiences, both locally and with a world view, and turned both good and traumatic events into empowerment.

Her body of work fascinates me and spans across the topics of culture, belonging, anti-bullying and much more. Her narrative and stories are well researched and most importantly, relatable to the world. I recommend any company or organization that believes "tending to our belonging can transform the world" and create business and personal success and happiness. Engage her for a coffee to find out Who she is, What she has, and Why you should care to engage her.

Don Shafer
Executive Producer, The Conversation Lab

This is one of the most popular episodes...

As a broadcaster, journalist, and life-long learner, one of my most memorable conversations has been with Jessie as we tackled the many systemic issues facing our community and our world.

She understands how to have difficult conversations, how to champion our vulnerabilities and applaud our successes. Jessie encourages the best in all of us, not through critique but by recognizing and addressing the better parts of us. It’s this rare and exceptional gift that I have observed when we were on the air and no doubt why the feedback was so exceptional.

This is one of the most popular episodes at theconversationlab.ca with hundreds of downloads and listens as a weekly podcast.

M365 Trainer & Public Speaking Expert

She shared so much value to listeners in such a true and authentic way.

I first got to know Jessie as my guest on my podcast, focused on women embracing public speaking. She is a fascinating woman with a wealth of experience and skills in building a culture of belonging. What a pleasure it was to learn about her public speaking stories!

She shared so much value to listeners in such a true and authentic way. We had such a great time that Jessie eventually came to me so we could co-create her visuals for a big UNESCO event she was speaking to. That is when I got an even deeper sense of how skilled she is to bring people together, whatever their social and cultural differences.

Any individuals in need to learn more about a culture of belonging, or organisations needing to bring their teams closer together culture-wise should consider bringing in Jessie. They will get a novel and effective new way to look at their own culture of belonging.
